They have been convicted of the worst crimes:

Murder, robbery, sexual assault, drug dealing,

They are considered as the "worst of the worst" criminals.

Not all are innocent.

Yet prisoners on death row have ordinary, respectable friends:

Teachers, doctors, students, retired or religious supporters -

People from all walks of life from around the world.

How do these friendships develop, how can they even exist?

This on line exhibition tells Nothing but the Truth

about the special human bond that exists

between prisoners on death row in the USA and their pen friends.

Their words constitute a unique testimony of humanity

- a moving space which blends equality, respect, friendship, sadness,

forgiveness, love and many other feelings.

They show how the experience of the "injustice of life"

is sometimes at the root of the most improbable friendships.

So are spirituality, faith and justice.

Victims are not to be forgotten. Any human death is a tragedy.

This exhibition asserts

the right to life and hope in humanity.
